Vloggi finalist in International Government Communications Award

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates 29 September, 2022 Australian video submission platform Vloggi was named as a finalist in the  Best Innovation in Government Communication category of the International Government Communications Award at a ceremony in Sharjah, UAE on 29 September 2022.

Australia’s Vloggi was selected as one of three finalists, alongside Balgium’s CitizenLab  and  Opendatasoft of France in the  Innovations in Government Communication Global section of the awards, which took place at the ninth annual International Government Communications Forum  organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau. The forum aims to build a platform for better communication between governments and their stakeholders to support the government of Sharjah towards creating a participatory dialogue and to develop government communication mechanisms for the benefit of government institutions in the UAE and the region.

Vloggi was selected from over 600 entries into the annual awards, which showcase innovation in stakeholder engagement technology. The International Government Communications Forum awards is the government communications industry’s night of nights, with delegates flown in from across the globe for the glittering awards ceremony.

Ohood AL Aboodi, Head of International Relations -  Government Communication Initiatives at the Sharjah Government Media Bureau said Vloggi was selected as a finalist because: “citizen feedback video is seen as crucial to  government communication initiatives that will have a positive outcome on the community and society.”

The recipient of numerous awards, Vloggi has become a key digital platform for government agencies throughout the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, India and Africa.

The platform enables governments to add video feedback into their existing citizen-engagement channels. Easy to use, yet highly secure, Vloggi means government digital channels can now include ‘citizen-generated-video’ at scale, for more authentic engagement with their local communities and constituents.

“We see huge potential for government citizen engagement technologies around the world, in particular for the use of feedback channels that offer the scale and flexibility of social media, but collated within private and highly-secure content libraries,” said Vloggi founder and CEO, Justin Wastnage.

Active government users of Vloggi include the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, The City of Sydney, New South Wales Education Standards Agency, the UK Parliament, Government of Telangana (India), Toronto Centre Projects, City of Cape Town and many others.
