Use Conversation to ask two to eight on-screen questions. Contributors record a separate camera response to each prompt. For one prompted response, choose Capture instead.
1. Choose the workflow
When creating a project, select Conversation. For an existing project, review its submission workflow in Configure → Overview & Settings.
2. Write the introduction
Open Collect → Video Form Builder. Explain the purpose, suggested response length and how the videos will be used. Add a welcome video or image if helpful.
3. Add your video prompts
- Open Collect → Video Survey Builder.
- Select the number of prompts, from two to eight.
- Write each question in its Prompt field. The current builder allows up to 260 characters per prompt.
- Set Required response for the questions contributors must answer.
- Review the Mobile or Desktop preview and save.
Video Survey Builder is used by Capture and Conversation. Other workflows skip it. These prompts ask for video responses; collect text answers, categories and other structured information separately in Contributor Data.

4. Configure contributor details and confirmation
Use Contributor Data for the information you need alongside the videos and the applicable legal settings. Use Thank You Page Builder for the confirmation message, submission receipt and optional redirect.
5. Share the link
Open Collaborate → Shareable Upload Link and copy the project link or download its QR code. Contributors follow the questions on their phone or computer and complete the required submission and consent steps.
6. Review the answers
Go to Curate → Project Video Library. Responses from the same submission are grouped together. Open clips to review their question, contributor information and available video versions. Use tags and favorites to shortlist footage.
Use answers in a finished video
Select suitable clips and use Create compilation where available. Configure any question text or contributor attribution in Video Template Builder, then retrieve generated output in Compilations & Downloads.
Useful question design
Ask one thing at a time, put the questions in a natural order and explain the expected answer length. Keep personal-detail questions in Contributor Data rather than making people repeat them in every video.
