Organizations using Vloggi to build travel video libraries
JUCY collected traveler road-trip videos through QR codes on campervan dashboards.
South Australian Tourism Commission used Vloggi to build its travel video collection.
Chattanooga Tourism invited local suppliers to contribute footage to a shared destination video library.
Explore used Vloggi to collect travel footage for its video library.

THE PROBLEM
You fund the story. But who owns the footage?
A sponsored trip or social post can bring attention without giving your destination the original video or the rights to reuse it. The story lives on someone else’s channel. Your library stays empty.
THE SOLUTION
Own your travel video library.
Vloggi collects original human-created videos directly from guests, staff and operators. The content assignment form transfers contributor rights to your organization, building a royalty-free library you can search, reuse and remix.
USE CASES
Six ways to put traveler-generated video to work

Video listings
Turn supplier footage into video listings for hotels, tours and attractions. Collect the property, location and experience details with each clip, then use the videos on your own and partner websites.

Video reviews
Ask real guests to show their stay and share what made it memorable. Guided video questions turn their experiences into useful reviews, with contributor rights captured for reuse in your marketing.

Staff and familiarization trips
Give trip participants a short capture brief before departure. Collect footage of rooms, activities and local experiences, with descriptions that help colleagues understand what each clip shows.

Local recommendations
Give guides and local hosts a way to share the tips visitors rarely find in a brochure. Collect the place name and practical detail with each clip.

Room and venue walkthroughs
Show travel agents and future guests what a space actually feels like. Ask staff to record the room, access and useful details through a consistent capture brief.

Traveler video challenges
Give guests a reason to share the highlight of their trip. Put a QR invitation where they will see it, explain the reward and collect the original footage with permission to reuse it.
FEATURE SPOTLIGHT · VIDEO LIBRARY
Thousands of clips. The right one in seconds.
Collect the footage once and keep putting it to work. Organize your library around destinations, properties and experiences so every campaign starts with assets you already own.

Search and shortlist
Find clips by contributor, submission reference and tags. Build collections for the audience or experience you want to promote.
Keep rights connected
Retain the original footage alongside the contributor’s content assignment and destination details.
Reuse and remix
Download original files or select clips for branded compilations. A new brief becomes a new story from the same library.

The footage is yours to keep using
Every submission includes Vloggi’s electronically signed content assignment form. Contributors assign their rights in the video to your organization, so the original footage becomes a royalty-free asset in your library, rather than a social post you have to keep asking to reuse.
The assignment stays connected to the submission. Add your own campaign terms, keep an auditable contributor record and build new stories from your collection. Ask contributors for original footage without unlicensed music or other third-party material.
EXAMPLE IN PRACTICE · AUSTRALIAN TRAVELLER
From a traveler’s question to a living video library
“Where are Victoria’s best vanilla slices?” That simple question helped illustrate an early concept we explored with Australian Traveller: connect travel recommendations to original video from readers and local operators, then keep that footage working across multiple channels.
The idea began with ASK AT, Australian Traveller’s travel assistant. A question could trigger targeted filming requests: show the bakery, the slice being made and the experience of visiting. Vloggi would collect the clips with location details and contributor rights assignments, creating a searchable library of real places and experiences.

A destination library built from reader and operator contributions, with consent and voting information kept alongside each video.

The same library assembled into a branded travel video.
One collection. Many stories.
Instead of commissioning a separate video for every article, the proposed workflow would categorize incoming footage and assemble it into branded formats: individual operator listings, destination roundups and “best of” compilations.
A clip collected for a bakery recommendation could appear in a regional food trail, a weekend itinerary or a new editorial story. The original footage, location information and rights record would stay connected.
The concept was first explored in December 2025 and subsequently developed further.
The bigger opportunity: regional video intelligence
Our later tourism proposals extend this library approach to visitors, operators and regional teams. Structured video collection, searchable transcripts and experience analysis could help tourism organizations discover stories, improve SME listings and investigate regional dispersal patterns. The proposed research would validate those insights. Vloggi’s role is the collection and processing layer; Australian Traveller brings tourism reach and editorial expertise.

INDUSTRY TIPS
Tips for destination and travel teams
Brief the gaps in your library
Ask for the places, seasons and niche experiences your existing footage misses. Give guests, guides and operators one clear filming prompt, with examples of the detail your next campaign needs.
Make every clip findable
Collect property, destination and activity details with each submission. Use consistent tags so colleagues can shortlist footage by experience, audience or region instead of relying on filenames.
Plan for repeated use
Keep original files, contributor rights assignments and campaign terms connected. Shortlist clips for listings, food trails or destination roundups, then remix the same library for your next campaign.

Who owns the story?
At the Tropical Innovation Festival in Cairns in June 2025, Vloggi founder Justin Wastnage delivered a keynote on a central challenge for destination marketing: paying to create attention without owning the resulting footage.
His argument: bring staff, local operators and guests into your own video pipeline. Build a library that remains searchable, reusable and remixable long after the trip or campaign ends.
CASE STUDIES
Travel video libraries in practice

Chattanooga Tourism
Chattanooga Tourism invited local suppliers to update a town video library. Businesses contributed their own footage, helping the destination build a shared collection that reflects what visitors can experience.

JUCY
QR-code stickers on campervan dashboards across Australia and New Zealand invited travelers to share their road-trip moments. One traveler in each country received a full rental refund each month, helping JUCY build an ongoing customer video library.

Reho Travel
Reho Travel turned staff familiarization trips into footage for niche travel marketing, including journeys to Antarctica. Firsthand experiences became a reusable library that colleagues could draw on long after the trip.

YOUR QUESTIONS
Your travel video questions, answered
Is Vloggi a social media network?
Vloggi is your own video collection and library platform. Collect original files directly from contributors, keep the rights records and choose where to publish. Your library belongs to your organization, not a social feed.
Do travelers need to install an app?
No app is needed. Travelers open your branded link or scan a QR code, then record or upload through their browser. Put the invitation at check-in, on a dashboard or in a post-trip message.
Are all submitted clips automatically royalty-free?
Vloggi’s content assignment form transfers the contributor’s rights in the submitted video to your organization at upload, creating royalty-free footage you can reuse. The signed assignment stays linked to the clip. Ask contributors to supply original footage without unlicensed third-party music or material.
Can we collect destination information with a clip?
Yes. Collect the destination, property, activity and other details you need alongside each video. Tags and submission records make it easier to find the right footage for a listing, audience or campaign.
Can guests submit while traveling without connectivity?
Travelers can record their adventures while offline and upload once they have mobile data or Wi-Fi. That makes remote experiences part of your library too. Uploading itself needs an internet connection.
Can we run a travel video contest?
Yes. Use Vloggi Contests to collect entries, contributor details and rights assignments in one workflow. Add campaign terms and a public gallery with voting to encourage participation.
